Everytime I play this one (always at night) I end up listening to the full thing like 5 times in a row.
WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?
Emil M. Antonowsky
Some of the heaviest hardcore in years
New Eddy Current was a nice surprise:

This is one of the first albums I can remember getting into when I was a kid. My dad went through a UK dance-rock phase—it was this, Fine Young Cannibals, Big Audio Dynamite, and Jesus Jones—and for whatever reason it really spoke to 9-yr-old me. Anyway, not sure what prompted me to revisit it, but I’m surprised by how not-bad it is. Not punk, but not entirely un-punk either. Very 1991, though!
sixbigboys got a CD player for Christmas when I was 12 and the first four CDs I got were
EMF- Unbelievable
BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE- The Globe
JESUS JONES- Doubt
CURE- Disintegration
Randall hahaha, yes! That Jesus Jones record does not hold up! Sounds like U2 heard Screamadelica and was like “Oooh, let’s make one of those!” And “The Globe” sounds like proto-Sugar Ray.
Still, I would love to see the alternate future where Nirvana never got big and sample-based rock was the dominant sound of the 90s! I imagine every song would sound like this:

Pavement-:Westing ( by Musket and Sextant)
All this nostalgia is funny because I decided to give a band called Pavement a try these last few days. I had Slanted and Enchanted on tape in high school ( I'm old) and enjoyed it enough. not enough to delve farther, but enjoyed it. there was some Pavement talk on here so I finally got around to giveing a listen. this is all their early singles and it is pretty enjoyable. noisey, kind of weird, abrasive, and with a few actual tunes. like a less punk rock Early Sebadoh. I have a feeling I would find the more indie rock later albums annoying, but who knows
Today I listened to a lot of Chrome. It was a good music day.
just took a trip to my PO box and came home with a lotta prime cuts.

also this, that was a gateway to outre rockin in my teens:
Clif the early singles with Gary Young on drums and producing were so magical. They were just trying anything.
- Edited
Tomoyuki Aoki & Harutaka Mochizuki - S/T LP
Guitar dude from Up-Tight + sax-man of some renown do it together. Was hoping for more, as I do with most Up-Tight offerings, but get juuuust enough to be alright. They look cool though.
Strapping Fieldhands - Discus LP
Panic skiffle. Brilliant? Brilliant.
Heavy Möther II - S/T LP
Still, nightly. Said enough already, but still so good. If you haven't heard this yet, you really should.
V/A - Earcom 2 12"
Thursdays' cover of "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" is cutting room floor stuff, but everything else is giant. Love how loud both Earcom 12"s are.
Happy Mondays - Wrote For Luck 12"
There was so much malt vinegar and curry sauce on the dancefloor that I slipped, hit my head and fell unconscious. When I woke up, the nurse (wearing fishnets, odd for a guy) was playing bongos on my bedpan, such a very deep sound. We've formed a band called Garfield Motion, we're billionaires and I'm dating a Dutchess from some sunless, rainy place.
The Spatulas - Beehive Mind LP
Returning to and loving this one all over again. Stoked I caught them live. Cannot wait for more.
Enhet For Fri Musik - Inom Dig Inom Mig LP
Still searching for something from this crew to smack me over the head.
Spectre Folk - Quabbin Winter LP
Hearin' a fair amount of early Floyd here, which mostly works. Lotsa sprinkles from Mike Donovan too. Cool record.
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break The Oath LP
Tiding me over until I find a copy of Melissa. After that, leather pants.
filthqueen666 funny this is, I took the cd out of my car's player amd my 9 year old son said, " I liked that one." He usually only listens to pop radio. threw me for loop.
Strapping Fieldhands' Across The Susquehanna was one of the best records of 2021.
The new Personality Cult single, Shirese's Bsides EP, Heavy Mother II and a new slew of things these local teens, the Obliques, have not dropped on the general public yet (single on Hozac out soon.)
