Steve was on Termbore I believe. I was just listening to some Magnolias, so followed it with some Adamyk ("Third"). Definitely a few leagues above generic "pop-punk". Any band that puts out a full Ramones album cover album is disqualified immediately...

ratcharge I'd describe it as mid-tempo weird punk with some retro-futuristic effects sounding like they were stolen from some Sci-Fi B movie, but I wouldn't be sure who to compare it to. Maybe Flipper trying to play Devo-like ?

Ruby Been having a blast going through all these extended Mick Hobbs projects, who I only learned of after he died few weeks back. Officer, the Lo Yo Yo, the Work to name a few... he also played in Half Japanese in the mid 2010s. Anyone else a fan?

Speaking of Brainbombs, have you heard Driver? Solo project by Lanchy with an early Leather Nun/Action Swingers vibe. Released an EP last year.

And to add to the Gimmie Sopor post, the guitarist of Teenage Graves also played guitar on the Brainbombs' "Anne Frank" and "Live at Rockall Oslo" 7"s. Those guys played Stooges better than anyone. Even the "Cheap" EP which is my least favorite Brainbombs release from the early stuff, is really good. Have to say, their last 3 LP's have not been as good as their previous records, but they had 2 new singles out the past years which were way better.

Inspired me to pull out some His Electro Blue Voice records who are of the same ilk

Working through those PostCards DIY comps. Vol 1 and 2 come out swinging but after that only handful of tracks spread out acoss the remaining volumes are scratching the itch

Btw since we mentioned Brainbombs, there was a band from Greece (the country I live in) in the same style that was good. Already posted it in the "International Punk" thread, but here it is again. Out on a Delaware label I believe, but on cassette only. Worth checking out!
