Coors Banquet or High Life are my go to macro beers. Kinda hate all the Canadian options in that field.

I like the high alcohol content tripels and other Belgian style fare. For the uh flavor solely....
Delirium Tremens if I'm feeling fancy.
Chimay makes nice beers too.

Gansett and High Life are fine by me as well.

Used to work for a brewery in NM and then a specialized beer, wine and spirits shop so I'm a big beer nerd! I love an English bitter style beer, which thankfully we have a couple of good options in the state. I'll pretty much drink anything, but the older I get the more I appreciate an affordable crisp light style. Always a good time for a Pacifico or a Famosa. What I really miss, though, is an ice cold Hamm's -- they stopped distro in NM and I think most of the US.

Now that I'm a social worker and not "in the industry" I can finally go to a brewery and enjoy myself again. There's so much bullshit in the craft beer world sadly (as in any industry) and overall my state is flanked by two states with far superior brewers. Still, I have my local favorites and never have trouble stocking the fridge with something!

    I should maybe have mentioned I’m a Brewer and run a small brewery. For sure an unbelievable amount of bullshit in “the industry”, factor in the normalization of drinking on the clock and it’s a deadly combo. I’m happy just to have a job I don’t hate.

      Mystery_Ship I have to keep things a lot tighter nowadays, but Lord knows having a couple cold ones while on the canning line has its blue collar charm! If it paid better I probably would still be humping kegs around for the brewery I worked at.

        ExpKind . As I've gotten older it's been harder to do IPAs, even one leads to a bad headache the next morning

        Yeah I used to be a very devout IPA hater, then moved out here and hazy/ juicy IPAs were everywhere and developed a taste but for the last year or so the headaches are so bad I generally stay away from them.

          I’ve been well past the IPAs for a few years now — they’re like chewing on rubber bands. Ha! Sadly, IPAs are all over Portland. I’ve always dug Euro/Mex/Asian Lagers (they’re all uniquely diverse), Pilsners, English Ales, and Stouts mostly. My go-to dive/pizza n beer beer is Narragansett or Coors Banquets. Narragansett FTW!

          I really like sours, but I got the beetus now so I mostly just drink Short's Locals Light or Michelobe ultra if I'm gonna have beer.

          I have to say I have really become fatigued by the hazy IPA explosion and in general am not an IPA enjoyer. That said, I had some of an old go-to (mostly for ABV) classic IPA tonight from Santa Fe Brewing and found it to be a pretty lovely night's drinking while taking down two movies in one work night. Nice little malty sweetness to balance out the hops and not Steel Reserve levels of alcohol (I think it comes in around 6.8?) Not my first choice, but fit the bill tonight.

            Will take basic pale ales and those clean-ass German styles [helles, lagers, pilsners, etc] over IPAs, though that's a small and stupid distinction to make if you just want to get drunk (which I do).

            I got burnt out on IPAs except I do still like Boneyard IPA, mostly pale ales and red ales right now

            Very over Hazy IPA. Really digging dry, bright California style IPA lately.

            Also loving English Milds in the 3% range.

            Been so tired of IPAs over the past few years. It's like brewers have forgot you're suppose to taste some malt in them.

            The last year or so I've been delving into the heritage pilsners and lagers from around the world that I've never tried or at least have not had in a long time. Things like Staropramen, Pilsen Callao, Bohemia Clásica etc. That and some of the local/regional offering (Edit outta Raleigh, Burial's series of lagers/pilsners and my go-to Paycheck from Fullsteam.)

              as far as light "yardwork" or "around the house" type beers Modelo Oro is my go to. more flavor than American mass market light beers
