sicboy speaking of old men, ya'll ever try to read the Hoffman forums?

I am well and truly BANNED FOR LIFE from their Meme thread.

Sprague Dawley I'm shocked they have any sense of humor to even HAVE a meme thread

It's no exaggeration to say the average age there is 70. And not the cool nifty type of 70 either. More the "Beatles all day, I havent even bothered to listen to anything made after 1983" kind of 70.

And if you even hint at Boomers being the spoilt shitheads who were handed the moon on a stick by the "Greatest Generation" and fucked the whole thing to hell, they will shoot your forum account into the sun.

Oh i know haha. Honestly, I'm shocked how fast that forum moves in general. I have a few threads on my watch list, mostly for jazz reissue stuff, but man, they NERD OUT on mastering and crap.

BARELY HUMAN my smartphone free day was actually awesome. I know I’m pretty compulsive about using it so it felt good to break the habit.
Also, I find that I enjoy the internet good parts of the internet (like these here forums) a lot more on desktop.

The local chain has an extra dollar charge for breakfast burritos due to the egg shortage and I paid it anyway and this burrito SUCKS

this is a phenomenon that I thought was specific to the northwest but it seems to be spreading. Do people stand in single file lines at the bars in your area? Nothing gets me my old man back hair standing like a long bar line while a long bar filled with stools to sit in and counters to lean on sit vacant

Randall I think this is just a collective Portland psychosis, but I am curious to see if others have experienced it elsewhere.

I've only ever seen a 'line' at the bar when it's packed and all the seats are taken

edit: even then, it's a haphazard free for all

All the young people I work with say "welcome in" as a greeting. I think it sounds weird and clunky.

Randall Do people stand in single file lines at the bars in your area?

this is happening in Sydney too! it drives me fucking insane... it seems like a post-Covid thing here, mixed with zoomer politeness.. first noticed it at a festival at the Marrickville Bowlo a couple years ago where the lines were like twenty metres long, there were signs up saying 'please do not line up, find a space at the bar and we will serve you', and yet... the single file lines continued. to the point where i was just walking past the lines, going straight to the bar, ordering in front of everyone and being thanked by the bartenders for doing so. what the fuck happened? WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY.. and the rules of that society involve leaning on the bar to save your space and talking to the bartender while they pour beers.

i hate it so much (but for as long as i can skip the line and be justified in doing so, then man, maybe it's arright)

I have been sick off and on every few days since like November. What in the FUCK is happening?
