BARELY HUMAN Revisited a few 80s movies recently and wow the sequels are not good compared to the first in the series. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Beverly Hills Cop, First Blood all great. The sequels have their moments but watching those after the first ones highlights how much of a cash in they are.

The Touch The Feel

This doc is incredible. There is a Fort Thunder connection with the main dude and Brian Chippendale is interviewed a few times if i recall correctly.

caught the Bjork concert film tonight. your enjoyment will largely depend on how much you like Bjork and flutes. the costumes and visuals were pretty cool. i struggled to remain interested though.

Just saw A Desert which was directed by Josh Erkman, who used to be in Lamps. It was great. Creepy David Lynch vibes all the way through with a couple of really intense/violent parts. David Yow is in it and was great. Ty Segall did the score and it's also really well done and doesn't sound like his stuff at all. Go see it if it's in your town!

jeff g Its wild!! I met Josh on my first day as a Bullwinkles (Family Fun Center) attendant where he trained me to operate the Ferris wheel - we were both 18/19 yrs old. That job suuuucked and Josh and I would just talk about how shitty the kids were mostly but also about weird music and movies! About 5-6 years later, my band was on the same bill as the Lamps where we reconnected and laughed about how shitty that job was. Stoked he’s making movies!!

HORROR MOVIES
It's the Total Punk forums' inaugural October! What horror movies are we watching this season? Based on what I've seen below what else should I watch? We're on day seven and here is mine so far, all of which at least kind of have to do with music. :

Jennifer's Body (2009) This movie is rules and has deserved its spot as a sapphic cult classic written and directed by women. Megan Fox as a killer? Hell yea. If you want to talk about it let me know cause I watched it by myself and have so many thoughts on the subtext. The "rock" band in this movie by far ranks as one of the worst I have ever seen or heard though.
-The Blob (1988) I "half-watched" this campy, body horror remake. It was actually really stupid. Spoiler alert: it snows at the end. Maybe it's actually a Christmas movie?
-Return of the Living Dead (1985) It's party time. This was equally gross and amusing. The over the top acting is SO BAD. But I really loved this one.

I can tell you one I don't recommend. I watched Heretic the other night. The horror of the film is you have to listen to Hugh Grant nonstop talk at you for 90 minutes. I can't remember the last time I groaned that much

I watched Barbarian and Angel Heart recently. Two movies that have nothing in common except they're kinda scary.

Watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 a coupla nights ago. Was fun, Dennis Hopper grimacing makes every movie better, Caroline Williams was a strong lead, Goo Goo Muck is played. Was weird (but understandable) seeing Leatherface painted into a more sympathetic character, but Chop-Top and Drayton are great over-the-top performances.

Tim Robinson is doing some deep clown work on himself through his art. May he live to be 1000.

Speaking of deep clown, watched The Jerk last night (for probably the 8th time).

Kind of an epic comedy, really. Would be curious if there are more that check the epic box.
