• I HATE MUSIC
  • WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?

back after a week of flu. looking at this board made me wanna puke, even more than usual...
speaking of cancon obscuros, do people know this one? I have no background on it, but have been enjoying for years, each time struggling to search it due to the horrendous faux rappers of the same name:

I’m scared you’ll stuff me back in my locker if I say anything but I really like this song mister.

Silo Kids demo (snotty Hattiesburg hardcore)

Gonna give the Heavy Möther II lp and tape a listen

The Stooges - My Idea Of Fun

    Mankind… hive mind(s)… psshaw!

A big ESAD to crummy so-and-sos. The Weirdness was pretty funny overall- likable though.

Wade T Oberlin How they managed to leave probably the best song of those sessions out of the LP, is beyond me

also ive been doing coffee dates with paul and larry of the trend (syracuse).
        rip j. marc

CAMELIA SINENSIS new record is out today and it’s killer. Ready to fight/ tough sounding hardcore punk from Lille, north of France, with members of tons of bands from their local scene, which has been killing it for quite some time now. Love this drum sound!

Its crazy this album sat on a shelf for over 30 years. An album no matter how many times I've heard it I'm still blown away by

This is great. Wonder if they have any other songs?

That album is next level. Kill the Enemy gives me goosebumps. That bass line on Jasontown!!?!?

first 5 or so GBV albums while sanding drywall and painting ceilings and getting drunk alone

            best band ever? maybe

hotsounds Alternate Learning, Game Theory, The Loud Family

I'm really excited for that piece, however it manifests, I love Scott Miller and everything he did! I need to get a copy of Music: What Happened?, however it seems to be a really sought-after book that gets bought as soon as it is for sale.

Nathan Loud Kill Yhe Enemy and Boy In The Sandbox are two of the best antiwar songs ever written

the mouth of the south on backing vocals

Just finally giving this the first spin on the old turntable. A stunning beautiful album

Total coincidence but I was listening to Brainbombs while eating a plant-based hotdog at Ikea.

Inside my mind, inside my brain, inside my head, it's the President's Day Sale.

Brainbombs is muzak to the Swedes.

Was having a nice day of relaxing Sunday listens

Then @Nathan Loud had to start talking about Ikea and this is where I've ended up

Been listening to good old Skitkids the last two days. Still can't decide if i like Onna For Pleasure or Skitfucked By the State better...

its tradition to play chilton every day

                  Chad Collins Bill Fay shreds.

I've been on a pop-punk kick primarily consisting of The Muffs and Screeching Weasel. I know there are plenty of things to say about Weasel, but the first three albums are pretty much bullet proof for me. Definitely a gateway band to a lot of punk.

Also this new Video Duct track is wild: I Found Out

still making my way through cleaning out the office and pulling out old releases. Pulled this one out this morning. First LP I ever put out and still one of my favorites. I knew Benji from his band Creteens. I had put out his first single, and booked Creteens two tours in the states. Both times he flew from France to Orlando, I put together a local band, and drove them around in my van. I got to know Benji really well, but mostly as a goofy prank filled teenager. Creteens were blown out garage punk with songs about things like the Crunchwrap Supreme, so I was really surprised when he sent me this beautiful album about heartache, loss, and exploration. Still holds up!

                    leaders of the pack

It's weird how things happen sometimes. I happen to be listening to Vol 2 of the recent Stax/Volt singles comp LP...and what do I hear? Dream Girl by Oscar Mack....covered by Portland's own Lavender Flu on their Mind Meld release.

Playing this somehow underappriciated(?) modern aussie classic

Emil M. Antonowsky When this album came out I was living in Melbourne and one of my roommates was this big quiet guy with a beard who reminded me of a lumberjack. He was a grindcore fan and that's all I knew – nice enough bloke, but didn't talk much, at least not with me. One night, I came home after seeing Circle Pit play a great show, so I was all excited (and most likely drunk), and he asked me where I was, so I told him. "Do you know this band Circle Pit ?", I said. "They were fucking amazing tonight". Somehow I think I'll never forget his reply : he stared at me like I had lost my mind and, with this really flat/ cold/ psychopathic voice, he looked me in the eyes and said, "Man, this band embodies everything I hate the most in music, and about the world in general." Ok bro, good night!
