WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?
Lords of the Manor is another killer Dan record. I also really like the acoustic one he did with PG 6 ( or whatever) a few years ago
Forgot these blokes covered one of my fave Silver Apples jams.
Only became aware of Heldon fairly recently, but what a joy. The best electronique krautrock is from France?! Frogrock!!
Better than Kraftwerk? You tell me..
Way before Syphilitic Vaginas, there was METAL SKULL!
Metal Skull disbanded when their singer Nanuek The Lengflo(real name; Michihiko Kojima), who apparently was a quite disturbed man, committed suicide on December 24th, 2005(R.I.P.) at the age of 27. Nanuek had ritually listened to the "Detestation" LP by G.I.S.M. every day as that's the only album he has owned -like, 20 copies of it!- and literary worshipped.
They did a split with G.A.T.E.S., who crank out some nice hyped-up Tank/Motorhead punky metal - for fans of Midnight (like me I guess)
Short clip of this Japanese tongue-twister song act as a nice palate cleanser for the evening power poop parade
Bring it on!

Indoor Life - S/T 12"EP
Feels great to uncover SF shit as an old man. Guess (mostly) ignoring MP3 blogs of yore delayed some joy after all. Anyway, Tuxedomoony-spiked post-punk w/Patrick Cowley at the controls.
In Embrace - Wanderlust (1982 - 1984) LP
For those moments when Aztec Camerea is just too balls-to-the-wall. This is some real "kittens and a saucer of milk" shit. Too impatient to deal with this type of shit beyond 3 songs.
Motörhead – Another Perfect Day LP
Lizzyhead.
V/A - Deep Entries (Gay Electronic Excursions 1979-1985) LP
100% Homosexual Killed By Disco Destruction. Dark Entries really knows how to pull off a comp, this being no exception.

World Of Pooh - Tight And Loose LP (Bulbous Monocle)
The Who Cares Anyway? era of SF rock is a bright spot for me, as I'm just too young [feels great to say that!] to have tangential experience with it BUT now old / weird enough to find losta value & kinda refuge in it. It doesn't have the omnipresence of classic punk (Avengers, Flipper, etc), likely due to the oddball, unfashionable air swirling around it (not to mention the steamrolling of the pivotal people and places that made it). While B.Manning's work is nothing new to me [Lately I Keep Scissors was a formative record during my teens +++ it's how I learned about The Fall], I'd never dove into World Of Pooh. So...Wow...pretty stunned by this singles/rarities collection. Every cool tentpole of subterranean avant indie pop --- NZ fun rumble, moth-eaten paisley, brash drug bash --- all here and all killer. Highest rec! Get it here: http://www.bulbousmonocle.com/products/867003-world-of-pooh-tight-loose
V/A - Lost Coast: Some Visionary Music from California 1980–1992 LP (Goaty Tapes / House Rules)
KBNABS [KIlled By New Age Bullshit].
Fleas Of Mercy - The 8th of May LP (Stucco)
Soft wallop, this one. Cool & unexpected bedroom DIY. Bit of a reach here, but I'm thrown toward Children Maybe Later AND Peace De Résistance equally when hearing this, so it's a blend of those respective spirits. Anyway --- pots/pans percussion, not consciously twee, poetic but punk-rooted, intimate & handmade. Limited to 100 copies!

havent checked in here for a bit but new cowboys single came out yesterday and a new 20-track album will be coming soon. also if you like the publication, a new comp tape will be coming out in august featuring unreleased and demo tracks from uni boys, brower, josephine network, the smashing times, soup activists, and more
Mitch C. I also got sucked in by that World Of Pooh, every song has its own identity. love it.
Saw them playing Bizarro in full maybe 13/14 years ago. Place went insane when Brassneck started, a genuine moshpit. Was not expecting that.

Ca a été une dimanche matin du Téléphone
King Khan & BBQ Show - s/t. Two odd souls who just perpetually make music I enjoy greatly.
The new CLAIMED CHOICE album is awesome!
Almost started a separate thread for this but decided against it… can you name some songs that are better in the first 10 second intro than the rest of the song? It goes from This Heat meets Mort Garson to, well, a catchy 80s ear worm. Which has been rattling around in my brand on a non stop loop for the past 13 hours
GALORE - Dirt LP (Speakeasy Studios SF)
I've really admired this band since their start but I'm still surprisingly knocked out by this record. Ante upped across the board, scrappiness replaced by confidence, just excellent on all fronts. I've txt'd "TBDB" to like 9 people in the last week, fully obsessed with the tune. Song of the year? Believe they are in the Pacific Northwest now. They rule. Go see them.
ANNIE ACHRON - Never Paradise LP (Siltbreeze)
Synth with an "anyone can do it" feel, very inspiring and cool.
GENTLEMAN JESSE - Singles LP (Beach Impediment)
Soon to be released collection of singles / demos / rarities. Obviously stellar, with a batch of unheard (at least to my ears) demos that take the whole damn cake.
C.A.D. & THE PEACETIME CONSUMERS - Play Atlantis LP (Dot Dash Sounds)
Enjoyed previous stuff [the prior LP > singles, IMO], but this is more like it! Clone Records style rocking weirdness.
Been listening to THE STALIN the past couple days. A great Venn Diagram of crisp Motörhead riffs, grunted melodies, powerful drumming, and other stuff I like.
In true discogs fashion the LPs plus shipping will run you about $100 bucks. Any of you fine labels out there care to reissue this one? General Speech perhaps?
Nathan Loud holy shit that's awesome
