"The Chair Company" is cringe comedy meets mystery genre innit? I never watched "I Think You Should Leave" but did see "Friendship" and it seems like Robinson is playing the same character. I really hope they have everything and the end game sketched out because the failure to do so is the bane of such mystery shows. Even Severance seems to be a bit too much into how cool they are in the moment but I worry about the final resolution.

Randall I've finally kind of come around to the fact its not really a comedy show first, the weird vibe of it all and sort of strange non-reality of it is the appeal, parts where you realize the world and the people in it are just used to everyone being openly weird.

Mystery_Ship Let’s also note that The Lowdown, beyond having a great cast that delivers memorable character turn after memorable character turn (I mean, who needs plot, right? … well, we do—sometimes—and thankfully…) we’ve also got one of America’s GREAT crime fiction writers co-producing and co-writing (one episode, Tulsa Turnaround, the crimey-est). Good times.

Just watched the season finale of The Chair Company. It’s still weird to me that there are all these online detectives trying to crack the code of the show’s central mystery. However, , despite the fact that I think it’s a useless endeavor it adds another layer of charm to the show. Looking forward to season two and seeing where this absurdist journey ends up.

Started spinning this at your suggestion. Really enjoying it after a handful of eps. There was a moment with that old lady moaning about popcorn, watched it a few times, nearly killed me.

My thinking is that the mystery is meant to be unknowable and unsolvable and absurd, a metaphor which resonates with today’s youth (i.e., me).

It's cool watching Pluribus and seeing more of the Albuquerque I know than I ever saw in Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul. Decent story, too. It's interesting seeing a unique take on The Twilight Zone. Never got into Black Mirror because its take on speculative fiction was never as inspired as The Twilight Zone's. I like the direction this show is going but we'll see how long I stay invested. TV series don't do it for me the way they did when Sopranos was around
