This is truly heartbreaking. Gabriel from Jacuzzi Boys needs surgery for a brain. tumor. I've known Gabriel for almost 20 years. First met him and Diego when I asked them to come up to Orlando to play a show I booked. They spent the weekend at my house and introduced themselves to me as Timmy and Billy. It was months later, when Eldys (Electric Bunnies) was recording their debut 7", that I finally found out there names were not Timmy and Billy. I put out their first single, their first LP, booked their first tour and drove them in my van, which broke down two hours from our first show in the middle of nowhere Georgia. We got towed to the nearest town and spent the morning driving my van around in reverse (the only gear that worked) looking for an autoshop to fix it while the hey all sat in the back of the van screaming directions at me. They brought their friend Rydel with them on tour and the two of us constantly butted heads much to their delight. It was the first time any of them had ever been outside of Miami and one of the most hilarious tours I've ever been on. They were even foolish enough to let me tag along to record their live LP at Third Man. I would always book them and house them when they came to Orlando. J Boys were my little bros. We've fallen out of contact since I've moved to Portland, the last we talked was when his son was born two years ago, but have been watching from a far as he's started a family and his art career has prospered.
