I was having a discussion today about great band names and how some of them are taken by bands that either aren't worthy of them or don't quite fit. A few examples that came to mind were:
Supertramp would have been a great name for Brownsville Station or Endless Boogie
Royal Trux, while a great fit, would have also been a great name for Sir Douglas Quintet (not so much vice versa)
The New Pornographers would have been great for so many bands that are not The New Pornographers.
Any others come to mind?
