So weird...I don't use FB much because it's 90% reccos for things/persons I don't follow, and while some are in my wheelhouse, it's such an obvious ploy to trick me into wasting time at the virtual mental hospital it has become.
Anyhow, my old friends in the band Justice League (a fairly obscure SoCal punk/hc band from the early '80s) played some reunion shows to benefit the daughter of a longtime scenester who recently passed. One of the posts had six or seven comments like this

We just can’t attend anymore, Please let me know if you know anyone who’s looking for Tickets or if you’d possible want to take them off me.Like,Comments and PM me..I’ll make a great deal. Thanks

damn - OK sure "Tati even", a "model" with zero friends/followers. Is it some sort of AI-driven scambot that just does this automatically to any post talking about a live gig? Instagram and TikTok must have even more scammers floating around...
It's not the spectacular Black Mirror episodes that we should fear, it's this infinite mundane bottom-scraping, a digital shit-patch covering 98% of the "Internet of Things".

    Sukebe_GG it's been happening for a couple years now i think... totally bonkers bot scam, but there was a time when it was slightly more sophisticated and you could see how someone very un-savvy with the web might fall for it i guess. nature of the automated bot rollout thing i guess, but i swear some of those scams would be 100 times more likely if they weren't so over the top with the softcore porn display pics and clearly fake usernames... should we put this to the test and plan a Total Punk forum facebook scam network to fund some compilation LPs no one wants????

        Sukebe_GG I’ve noticed the same thing too, sometimes bots, sometimes real human scammers. I saw someone online trick an obvious human scammer in an awesome way: ask them if they also have tickets to a city where the band isn’t playing and see if they say “yes”.
