    There are a lot of great songs that rip off Ça Plane Pour Moi. The best one was made by the Belgian studio act Les Marylenes. I always play it when I'm DJing.

      What about real punks pretending to be fake punks

      these comps are top notch and I'm really surprised to see they are for sale on discogs since they are 100% boots

        Randall it seems that boots don't get flagged as "blocked from sale" unless people consciously report them to discogs

              Although im not going to post them for obvious reasons the romper stomper soundtrack has some very convincing studio band Oi tunes

              Unsure if they actually qualify as "fake punk," but growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Surf Punks LPs were almost always available for purchase in the used bin.

                  Randall that Marie Marie track on the French LP is one of my fav fake punk tracks.
                  The production team behind it remade the song a couple of years later for Canadian release with a different singer, different verses and a different solo. The track is slightly slower but it is the same backing track and chorus (and theme obviously). For shit and giggles I synced up the two songs in a DAW with Marie Marie on panned to one channel and Suzy panned to the other. Anyway, here's the remade Canadian version

                        a couple of years ago i did a fake punk radio show, it's a little 101 cause it was pledge drive and i took a lot of requests. but still fun.

                        This is hands down one of the best fake punk tunes ever. Punk Plonk can be found on Per Forsell's 1981 album Hantverk, which is basically a throwback to early/mid 70s proggy rock and a pretty good record in its own right. However, his shit take on punk is by far the best song on the LP. Highly distorted guitars, a weird drum machine pattern and manic vocals with Swedish lyrics that go out of their way to be as offensive as possible. Unfortunately, I'm probably the only one here who understands them. Still a great song, that in many ways can be seen as a companion to I Beat You by Vicious Visons.

                        Gimmie Sopor I'm pretty sure Les Marylènes were French, not Belgian. IIRC they were the chorus girls for the famous Parisian mainstream pop/rock band Martin Circus, who also had another popular fake punk/punxploitation band named Bulldozer. I also play Les Marylènes every time I DJ, and it's a guaranteed head-turner!
