I haven't been paying attention to GonerFest for the past few years but yeah this was way more an "indiefest" than anything else.

Went back and watched Cherry Cheek's set. Dataset really is the best song of 2026.

JessVex yeah. my favorite bands of Martin’s are the ones he doesn’t sing in (Fried E/M, Pineapple RNR, BB Eye) haha. I liked his vocals in the Dumpers though. hope he gets back to rocking again soon

I didn’t see The Lotts set but keep hearing great things. It seems to me that rock is coming back in a big way. Sub Pop is actually putting out records by rock/ garage/ punk bands again

Gotta say, watching this shit from my couch felt luxurious! I'd obviously wanna see it in person, hang with buds and eat Payne's...but....this was all fine by me. Didn't catch it all, but Animal Piss coming on as soon as I clocked out on Friday was magic. That band is like a dream come true.

What, no love for Zoh Amba? 🙃 Y’know, the Appalachian sax goth girl whose band abandoned her a week prior? Oof, her band did her wrong, but she was sorely UNPREPARED. 😬 A better prepared band would’ve loved to have that spot.

Was bummed to miss the fest in person this year, but pumped to check a good chunk of it out from the comfort of my own home. Animal Piss It's Everywhere won Gonerfest if ya ask me. Well done Eric and crew!

I had a lot of fun and Memphis is a cool city. Caught Liquids at Lamplighter and that was awesome.

I actually enjoyed most of the sets. I thought Cherry Cheeks crushed it considering the early opening spot. D Sablu was sick as well. Loved Powerplant.

Maybe the less "punk mosh" vibe was due to the median age of everyone there being like 55 lol. I don't know. I'm 43 and I thought the venue(s) were awesome.
