I've been playing a lot of Damned, Adicts, Stranglers and Adverts lately. Some 999 and jam too. Buzzcocks and Stiff of course...
What else Am I missing ?

      Poison Girls and slightly later era but Chaos UK and of course Rudimentary Peni (the greatest)

      Wire - Pink Flag

      I don't listen to it all that often these days, but Slaughter and the Dogs Do It Dog Style can hit the spot. Also a big Alternative TV/Mark Perry fan, though that veers into post-punk territory.

              By UK classics, I take it you mean the 70s stuff? One of the most underrated ones IMO is The Boys – their first two LPs are so good! Also way into The Adverts, Buzzcocks, X-Ray Spex, SLF (technically UK), as well as Crass. I also enjoy Slaughter & The Dogs, Rezillos, The Stranglers, Damned, etc.

              Been revisiting the Pistols album in recent years, after literally decades of not wanting to hear it ever again. It's a solid record. Loving The Professionals too.

              Incredible Kidda Band thirded, but we're delving more into power pop territory here.

              If we're talking early 80s, then fucking DISCHARGE. In capitals.

                The Exploited

                I'd add The Lurkers, The Fall, The Vibrators, and The Only Ones. The Electric Chairs counts for me, too.

                If we're counting UK82, then GBH for sure.

                  The Users - Sick of You is a godhead 7" as fr as I'm concerned.

                  Wrote “brain dead heart” on the circs lp after a uk punk listening binge, particularly 999 and generation x.

                  This song was a strong reference point for me

                  For 'agreed upon classics/canon' (not KBD/bloodstains obscurities) cosign pretty much everything already mentioned, plus UK Subs, Slits, Raincoats, Gang of Four, Mekons (first singles)... Cockney Rejects, Blitz...
                  Despite being from the UK I kinda missed the first wave of punk and didn't start getting into music until the 2-Tone era (except for things like Pistols, Clash, Blondie that were just in the ether) then got into US hardcore via skating/bmx.                   All these bands suck the kings balls compared to Thee Milkshakes, Thee Mighty Caesars, Thee Headcoats, Thee Headcoatees, and the Buff Medways.

                    Been playing Adicts-Sound of music so many times lately. Any other good albums by them ?

                    The Outsiders, Adrian Borland's band before he formed The Sound, are seldom mentioned. Released two great albums and a godlike single.

                    So many classics! I think Crossing The Red Sea by The Adverts might be my favourite UK record from that period (alongside Wire - Pink Flag), but there are honestly so many killer records from the first wave. For cannon stuff, a lot has been mentioned above but I somehow only listened to this for the first time recently and can't believe I'd missed it for so long:

                    Luc At Tomorrow I can't believe I forgot to mention The Ruts. "The Crack" is one of the top late 70s UK punk albums. Top 5 material, no question.

                        Don't forget Sham 69 for classic, the Drones and Menace for slightly-less-than-classic.

                        Once you've covered everything in the Punk Britannia documentary and Mojo magazine type lists I suggest checking out Raw Records, Small Wonder and Chiswick compliations. Live at the Vortex and Live at the Roxy good snapshots too.
