• I HATE MUSIC
  • WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?

Someone posted a song from this YT channel so I now I have to listen to every single song they have posted. Only 1,711 to go! Honestly though, I love these channels with endless KBD hits and other obscure punkiness...It always amazes how deep and endless the late 1970's punk/new wave vein goes.

Been listening to old glam and teen wave songs on the "hammered satin" youtube channel all afternoon. Lot's of good stuff. Is the band by the same name any good?

last coupla days:
The Complete Quartets (grant Green / sonny clark)
The Big Beat (Art Blakey)
Phew-Phew
Can-Live in Paris 1973 (catching up with these releases with very unfortunate artwork, they look like they could be released by Guitar centre in house label)

11th hour stubble Can-Live in Paris 1973 (catching up with these releases with very unfortunate artwork, they look like they could be released by Guitar centre in house label)

They kinda look like Jones soda bottles to me. One helluva record though.

    More Mick Hobbs...

Was just listening to Laurice - Dark side of your face. What a beautyful song,
Anyone got copies of the Best of Vol. 1 and 2 that came out on Mighty mouth that they want to part with?
Feel like they used to be all over the place but now not so much...Would be cool to pick them both from the same place...
      Please help me man

      at home:
Flamin' Groovies "Supersnazz" and "Teenage Head" LPs
Beefheart "Safe as Milk" LP (my dads (RIP) copy, the stereo mix on this thing is WEIRD and always jarring to me. need a mono at some point)

      at work:
GBV "Devil Between My Toes" and "Sandbox"
      Mahavishnu Orchestra "Inner Mounting Flame"
Man is the Bastard "Mancruel" (desperately needs a vinyl release)

Guy Lombardont Mad Scene - Blip
a perfect record really. kinda came and went but i hope it will one day achieve the status i feel it deserves

It really is, it even made me go back and relisten to all of the older Mad Scene records and while they are all good to great, "Blip" is, as you said, perfect.

The Vapors-Magnets: Better than expected second album from the turning japanese band. Solid $1 find.
Intermission-Power Corrupts-Some cool noises on this one
      Benzin-Treibjagd-Sick stuff

      This week began with
      THE BOYS – Alternative Chartbusters
BRAINBOMBS – Urge to kill + Obey
      SPLEEN – II
GOOD FLYING BIRDS – Taluha's tape

The a side of this single is a decent but forgetable blues rock cover of "Break My Mind" but they really let their hair down and get freaky on the B side Ride. Completely over the top, high pitched screams, and next level sexual innuendo. Come and take a ride in the love tunnel.

I've been diving into later era Bob Dylan, and I have to say I used to write it all off but Street-Legal starts with what is now one of my favorite Dylan tracks of all time. The production and overall vibe of Oh Mercy is also killer. A real hazy, late afternoon album (even though I'm listening to it at my desk in the morning). I think there's merit to almost everything he's done which is a staggering feat. Yes, even his Christmas album.
