Ryan Leach's Final Part to His Interview With Larry Hardy (In The Red)
Could've read ten more parts of this. Thanks for sharing!
I really dug it too! I had always wondered about Larry's origins and whatnot. Never knew he was Melanie Vammen.
excellent interview, thx
Thanks. I've known Larry for over 20 years. He's one of those rare people who's been able to keep a label relevant and remain truly independent. That's really hard to do these days. The plot is continually lost as labels stumble around in the dark, trying to find a business model in the world of streaming and declining physical sales. Alongside Friedl, he's one of the few people in the biz I consider a friend. You can't go wrong supporting ITR.
I've got a few interviews penciled in for the summer. Craig Bell, Chip Kinman, Jon Langford...two or three others, newer artists. Adam Smith of Columbus Discount Records -- he also fixes 1970s modular synths -- is just about finished with his studio (24-track analog board). He'll probably be in there -- he knows how the sausage is made. I'm going to release another volume of Bored Out.
Sukebe_GG Best record of 2022.
