sometimes there are just weird little things that I can't find info on and I hate instagram 'does anyone know..' type stories (even though i've been guilty of it) and today I was like, if only there was a central hub for conversation around the world of punk and punk culcha that I could ask questions to without starting a reddit account so here we are.

Does anyone know when exactly SST started using the 'destroy corporate rock / corporate rock sucks / corporate rock still sucks' bumper sticker, tagline, t-shirt??? Like what year? I read Jim Ruland's SST book which was really good and detailed, but it's bugging me trying to think what year SST threw themselves into the anti-corporate rock sloganeering, and it's kinda my suspicion that it was late-80s/ early-90s (which would obviously be very interesting timing haha). It's for a column/essay I'm writing, and I feel like that date is preeeeetty important for how the discussion goes ofc...

Thanks to anyone who can help!

P.S. did you know that Henry Rollins worked at a Häagen-Dazs !!!! :-O

I would say it was more like mid-80s, like '84-5, after the Damaged fiasco and major labels sniffin around for Husker Du and Sonic Youth. I remember seeing it and I didn't follow SST much after that era...
but I gotta imagine that asking Ruland is your best bet.

P.P.S. Do you know that Ihan McGuy ALSO worked at Hargen Daze???

Sukebe_GG Thanks for the tip-off man! Messaged Jim and he too said he wasn't sure, but had the impression that it came via the booking agency, Global that Dukowski ran. Who knows? More mystery..

P.S. Did you know that Chumbawumba used to be an anarcho-punk band! :-O

    • Josh replied to this.

BARELY HUMAN P.S. Did you know that Chumbawumba used to be an anarcho-punk band! :-O

was that when Moby was in them?

Josh i think he was busy playing in flipper and dating natalie portman at that stage, but would've been around that time, i'm sure. heard he loved ice cream too!

I always thought it was that guy from Star Trek who played in flipper. I love you punk factoids thread.
