see/saw is a punk + rock'n'roll newsletter from me, evan minsker. there's also a podcast called punk this week (with nina corcoran) and a terrestrial radio show called see/saw radio. there's weekly writing you can read for no money (usually features), weekly writing you can read for $4/month or $40/year (a punk recommendations column), and a punk community discord. I curated a comp, put out some zines, and threw some parties.

this week on see/saw:

see/saw radio 27

interview with power pants by tim abbondelo (ar-kaics / dig records)

punk this week podcast 29: fugitive bubble, teo wise, steröid, anika, primal brain, and kills birds

punk this week column: on perverts again, makin' out, iron lung, cold meat, chime oblivion, fan club, evinspragg, electric prawns 2, why bother?, coffee stain + 19 more

near-arctic state of alert: tracking norway’s recent punk explosion; feature and playlist by erik egenes

this is a reported essay about the explosion of activity in oslo and stavanger’s punk scenes; I went through and hyperlinked all the bands discussed and it's deeply worth investigating. tons of cool stuff I hadn't heard before. interviews, some great photos, and a big ass playlist.

fruit loOops’ no wave theatre of the absurd, feature by jude noel

an interview with the Cincinnati noise/performance art weirdos at a KFC/Taco Bell

plus the new episodes of the podcast and a column on 21 sick new punk records

haven't updated this in a bit but here's what's been going on at see/saw recently (reminder you can subscribe for free or for $4/month)

t.a.c.k., the new orleans trash can punks who love fishing dads

an conversation between new orleans journalist willie archambeault + the scrappy punk duo stella + roach

sexfaces, seasoned dc punks, are not always on the same page

this one’s a chat between the band who just put out a sick record on slovenly + tim abbondelo (dig rex/ar-kaics)

rotary club could only be reached via reno bus station payphone

I went to reno and wanted to interview the band rotary club (iron lung records) irl somewhere. instead, they sent me to a bus station payphone, left instructions for how to reach them, and then mailed me a cassette of our conversation a couple weeks later.

there were also new episodes of the punk this week podcast discussing artificial go, sexfaces, mspaint, stress positions, meditation, frizbee, m(h)aol, and more

as always, there’s a long weekly column rounding up all my favorite new punk records from week to week
