Do you celebrate? Yea or nay?
It's a pretty quiet affair here on the west coast. Undertones, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, and Guinness.

Don’t really hit the bars much these days but in my bar days St. Patty’s was for sure a day I skipped the bars. Not Irish and it’s right up there with Cinco De Mayo for primo annoying bar patrons night.
That being said I am going to a St Patty’s day party tonight
as a paddy myself (not a paddy as in irishman, but an american mutt named Patrick, paddy to my family) - I never realized how ridiculously stupid the holiday is until i moved to the east coast. but when I lived in Jersey City my Korean next door neighbors threw a St Paddy's day party every year - which was awesome because their cabbage dishes were amazing.
it's one of the select few days of the year "Nice Day To Go To The Pub" does not ring true
When I lived right across the street from a very popular Irish pub I learned to embrace the madness and down the baileys pudding shots.
Moved away from there ten years ago and don’t think I’ve celebrated since.
I think this is a holiday that gets excessively worse the further east you go. It's shit-awful in Wisconsin, but I've heard it's even more painful on the East Coast. Best day to stay in, along with New Year's.
Pffft, silly Americanized “holidays” are thee absolute worst!! They’re all now caricatures of the original intention and rife with capitalist agendas to sell worthless shit. Be it junk trinkets, swag, party goods, booze, etc. The only patrons I see out celebrating Paddy’s day en mass are kooks and douche bags. Cover your drinks at all times.
Kalamazoo has a little neighborhood Irish pub I really like called O'duffy's. They do st Patrick's stuff for several days every year, so I walked down Saturday and got some excellent corned beef for lunch and avoided the douchey masses
It’s a Catholic, explicitly anti-Pagan holiday. Those who celebrate it should be considered targets.
Randall this right here i stay the fuck away from the pubs on st. paddy's day (and cinco de mayo)
Namenlos when you put it like this it makes me think everyone publicly puking on 5th Ave probably is the right way to mark the occasion, but i still prefer to lay low
My family is Irish so it's something I acknowledge but I like to do it privately. I made coddle (an Irish bacon/sausage stew) and listened to records by the Dubliners.
No way am I doing the Santa Fe bar circuit for the holiday lmao
i do go to the alt St Pat's For All parade in Sunnyside because I love drag queens and solidarity with Palestine
What about all the cool St Punk-trick’s shows featuring zero punk bands?! Anyone?!
terminalsunset Man, I went into Sprouts off Zafarano yesterday and even they were playing the damn Dropkick Murphys
