Ben Lyon‘s queuing with Dan Severn tale has inspired me to gather more queue related anecdotes. Who have you been in line with?

In 2020 I was behind Boris Becker in a queue to board a plane from Berlin to London. At the gate the staff were all freaking out and asking him for photos, whereas I didn’t know who it was until he scanned his boarding pass and Becker, B. came up on the screen. After shaking the outstretched hands, he boarded and the staff immediately composed themselves and called me forward. I asked them if they wanted a photo with me too but they said no.

Myself and bandmates were headed to SXSW way back in ye olde tyme year of 2007, and had a connecting flight in Southern California. Perry Farrell was a couple people ahead of us in line. He did not look well and we saw him around Austin multiple times that week. I swear as the plane took off we could hear him exclaim “Here we go!” from first class.

At the McDonald's right by the main branch of the Vancouver Library in about 2003 or so I was in line with Wiener Dog from Welcome to the Dollhouse. Was also in line with Alex Burrows from the Canucks at Costco (right across the street from the arena) in 2012 or so.

I met Cynthia Plastercaster while waiting in line to see John Waters speak at the Biograph theater in Chicago

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in line at Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs in the Newark airport

While killing time before getting the same black cat tattoo as Dee Dee Ramone (not where I got the idea for it but cool enuf), I was at a supermarket checkout line and noticed the checker say something to the old lady in front me who leaned over with a hand cupped to her ear "Pardon?"
Alice the maid from The Brady Brunch!

Living in Orlando I would encounter wrestlers all the time. I stood in line at Publix behind Kevin Owens, Big Cass, and Ty Dillinger. This was right after KO had joined NXT and betrayed his best friend Sami Zayn. His explanation, he was doing it for his family, and Sami was the actual bad guy for not understanding. I tweeted "Just saw Kevin Owens buying a rotisserie chicken and mac and cheese. He was doing it for his family." He tweeted back "Just like a stupid mark it was actually macaroni salad." One of the only tweets I ever posted.

Also ran into Asuka at Whole Foods. Not so much a line but met Samoa Joe waiting for my turn to order at the bar. He was super cool and ended up hanging out with my friends and I for the next few hours. He even let me hit his weed vape and we talked about punk for a while. Shinsuke Nakamura was there as well but he mainly sat there looking at his phone annoyed.

Probably should have posted this in the wrestling thread

Once Tom Wopat checked into a Holiday Inn Express in front of me.

Alice Cooper and Sheryl Cooper were in the line behind me on a flight from Mexico City to Los Angeles. Got a pic. He was in a full ADIDAS tracksuit.

I was in line behind Sonic Boom from Spacemen 3 at the airport on the way to Austin Psych Fest. He noticed my 13th Floor Elevators button and we talked for a few minutes, nice guy.

I went to a screening of the Stacy Peralta Bones Brigade movie back when it was out and Owen Wilson was there seeing it and sat a few rows in front of me. Not only is he short like a lot of movie stars but he is just little everywhere.

Working at a coffee kiosk in downtown Milwaukee like two decades ago, there was a few run ins with serving them in line.

Michael Anthony, Rollie Fingers, the actor Keith David, Rikki Rocket, & ICP.

Also before that, I worked at TJ Maxx & sold underwear to J Mascis.

I assume he buys them a few sizes too small

Josh I was technically only in line with David & Lauri but since it was nyc i guess we were on line

Randall I don’t think he’d have that look on his face that he does if he was wearing Superman underoos.
