I keep seeing great looking punk accessories that seem like they would last about five minutes in a crowded room.
Long chains get caught on people. Cheap clasps open. Spikes catch on jackets and hair. Loose bracelets disappear before the second band finishes.
What do people here actually wear to shows?
I usually stick with a short choker, a belt chain that is not too long and nothing with a closure I would be upset about losing.
I run an alternative accessories site called Lunarness, so I probably spend too much time thinking about this stuff. I wrote a general page about alternative fashion and its different styles, but articles rarely explain what people actually wear in a hot, crowded venue.
I am more interested in the practical answers.
Do you wear chains, studs, collars, pins or nothing at all?
What has survived years of shows, and what looked good but turned out to be completely useless?
